| Welcome to Bon Viveur Wine! |
Bon Viveur Wine has a mission to bring good quality regional wine from across France, the first in our range having been brought to you from the Loire region of France. Situated in the east-central part of France, the Loire is the longest river in the country stretching for over 1000km. It flows past the myriad castles, palaces and fine mansions and features some of the most beautiful architecture in France. The Loire produces fine quality wine and has a sparkling wine production second only in quantity to Champagne; produced using the bottle fermented method, or méthode traditionnelle. It is of outstanding quality. Whilst the Loire is largely known for its white wine production, using Chenin blanc, Sauvignon blanc and Melon de Borgogne grapes, there are some beautiful red wines produced using the Cabernet Franc grape – a grape also used in our excellent rosé wine.
Our second shipment is from the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France and is now available for purchase. Like many Mediterranean regions, wine grows easily here. The Languedoc-Roussillon is dominated by nearly three-quarters of a million acres of vineyards – three times the combined area of vineyards in Bordeaux. The Languedoc has a history of producing good quality wine and is known for growing the major red grapes such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Syrah, Carignan and Cinsault. Amongst our range we are delighted to offer an excellent four grape variety, which also includes the lesser known Petit Verdot that adds good tannin to the wine. Our white is a superb, award winning dry Muscat and the rosé is a three blend wine including the aforementioned Cinsault, Carignan and Grenache. |
